We are the oldest industrial sewing machine distributor in Florida. Aaron Gopman founded the company in 1964, only 2 years after emigrating from the Soviet Union to Miami, Florida. With the technical experience he gained working as a mechanic in the Siberian labor camps, and his innate business abilities, he quickly established Universal as the biggest sewing machine dealership in Florida at that time. Today, his second and third generation descendants are running the company in the tradition he established.
We represent some of the most respected and best brands of equipment in the sewing industry. Famous brands such as JUKI sewing machines, Union Special bags, geotextiles, and specialty fabrics sewing equipment, Yamato sewing machines, Eastman cutting machines, Morgan Tecnica advanced automatic spreading and cutting, Unicraft cutting tables and material handling equipment (our related company).
Our Parts Department stocks large inventory of genuine parts and a large variety of Groz-Beckert and Schmetz needles to enable the least possible down time for your machines, because we understand than an idle machine costs you time and money. Same day shipment is our goal and we accomplish it almost every time.
Our knowledgeable bilingual staff consists of experienced professionals dedicated to serving customers. The sales staff provides information, advice, and price quotations quickly and courteously.
